"North East Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) now work alongside the other emergency services at the centre of serious accidents or threats. In doing this the ambulance service hope they can save more lives during the early stages of a major incident. However, their important training exercises have been disrupted over the last year due to Covid-19. Therefore It was good to see Rescue North East (RNE) a Consett based firm, delivering specialist training in Consett to the HART personnel.
These Ambulance operatives have worked as Paramedics across the area and all through the pandemic, but the specialist skills are essential if the team are to be used fully to all our benefits".
