Penthrox Training

RNE are an authorised provider of Penthrox® which has recently introduced to the UK services. Often referred to as the “Green Whistle”  An alternative to Entonox Penthrox is a superior pain relief for trauma patients in moderate to severe acute pain.

This course is suitable for medics responding within:

• Search and Rescue Agencies, 
• High Risk Industries 
• Events Companies 
• Safety and Rescue cover

Penthrox is a portable lightweight pain relief device manufactured by GALEN 

Course content includes:

• History, background, and licensing of Penthrox®/methoxyflurane.
• Inclusion and exclusion criteria
• cautions and contra-indications for use.
• Safe administration to pre-hospital environment
• Appropriate documentation.
• Practice with setting up and administering training inhaler device. 
• Clinical cases - suitable for penthrox®

Please note: 

Penthrox is a prescription only medication however Penthrox can be administered by non-health care professionals who have had appropriate training and are authorised to do so under strict organisational Standard Operating Procedures or Patient Group Directions.
